Joliet, IL Flag Football Program

Our goal is for all participants to get in the game!

Team Zone Athletics was established in January 2023 and is focused on programming competitive youth and teen sports for the community. We encourage teams from area football and cheer organizations, as well as individuals to sign up so that we can create an all-inclusive, fun, competitive environment for young athletes that is unlike any in the area.

With smaller team sizes, every athlete can GET IN THE GAME!

2023 Fall Flag Football Season

Registration for the 2023 Fall Flag Season will be open soon for Youth Pre-K-4th Grade! Check back for more details!
Register today.

6 vs 6 Grades K-8

  • 6 on 6 Gameplay Format on a 25-yard wide x 50-yard long fields, fields will run East to West
  • The season will consist of a 4-game regular season with a 2-week playoff or consolation games
  • Team Zone Athletics Flag Football Teams will be comprised of 10-12 athletes (maximum) of any gender
  • All games will consist of 2-20 minute halves with a 3 minute half-time, with 1-30 second timeout per half
  • Game Schedules will be emailed out weekly and will also be posted on our website

7 vs 7 Grades 9-12

  • 7 on 7 Gameplay Format on a 50-yard wide x 50-yard long fields, fields will run North to South
  • Practices are one day a week. Coaches determine practice location and dates.
  • The season will consist of a 4-game regular season with a 2-week playoff or consolation games
  • Team Zone Athletics Flag Football Teams will be comprised of 12-15 athletes (maximum) of any gender
  • All games will consist of 2-20 minute halves (Running Clock) with a 3 minute half-time, with 1-30 second timeout per half

Giving Back

One of our biggest commitments is giving back to youth programs. For the Spring 2023 Flag Season, Team Zone Donated: Over $16,000 back to youth organizations; $2,500 to the Joliet Park District; $100 back to each head coach, which collectively is over $2,000; Team Zone pays for head coaches to be USA Football certified and donate game-day footballs back to youth organizations after the season. Safety

Above all else, we are dedicated to the safety of participants, which is why Team Zone Athletics head coaches are USA Football certified. Over 1,000,000 coaches have been certified through USA Football, which teaches concussion protocol, provides background checks and helps the coaches focus on making a positive impact on the team. Also because of our commitment to safety and the well-being of players, a Certified Athletic Trainer is on the sidelines at every game to ensure that any athlete that needs medical assistance is attended to immediately. Volunteer to Coach

Coaching with Team Zone Athletics is a unique opportunity to instill positive values and help kids develop healthy habits that extend far beyond the playing field. We are looking for coaches to provide a welcoming atmosphere, teach fundamentals of the game and promote the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.
